Raised awareness of the importance of wellbeing

Bing Smith, LCNUK Member

This blog is part of our #LCNUK2022 series, sharing attendees experiences of our LCNUK Annual Conference.

I have attended the lung cancer nurse conference few times in the past. I could not wait for this year’s, as it has been so long since COVID.

I find the conference is very informative and inspiring. I enjoyed hearing about the up-to-date practice and the annual research project. The self-caring session is very inspiring and raised awareness of the importance of wellbeing. The CBT session also provided me with some thoughts for the local nurse led clinic. I always enjoyed the debate at the conference.

The networking with other colleagues is important and I gained knowledge of other Lung CNS practice in other Trusts. We have similar issues and barriers at time and we all somehow find ways to work around it and work with it.

I also enjoy the venue as well.

I am very proud of being part of the national lung cancer nurse forum. I look forward to joining the conference next year.
