Help to support development of business case for RCLCF

We have been in discussion with Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation who are undertaking a piece of work, developing a template business case for lung cancer nurse specialists.

The aim is to provide a helpful resource for people who are putting together business cases for LCNS posts so that they can build the best case possible and maximise the chances of a new post being commissioned or an existing post being maintained.  The resource will build on the publication last year of a joint report from the National Lung Cancer Forum for Nurses and the Roy Castle Lung Cancer the Foundation - Understanding the value of lung cancer nurse specialists.

In order to help develop the resource, we are looking for any examples of business cases that you have developed.  In particular, we would like to know what elements worked well and what has not worked as well.  We would also be interested in receiving any job descriptions that you have seen or used that you feel describe the role of a LCNS well.

These examples will be used to help develop:

  • A template business case
  • A template job description
  • A supporting powerpoint presentation

If you do have any documents or insights that might be helpful, please send them to Peter Wasson at peter.wasson@mhpc.com.
