Karen is currently working as Macmillan lung cancer nurse specialist, jointly managing a team of 10 lung cancer cns, based within a large lung cancer directorate supporting diagnostic, surgical, SACT, and inpatient pathways. Karen has worked as Macmillan CNS for 25+ years, starting in lung cancer, working in community specialist palliative care before returning to lung cancer at wythenshawe hospital Manchester. The privilege of supporting this unique group of patients is what keeps her committed to the role. She is passionate about and a strong advocate for the importance and value of the role of the lung cancer clinical nurse specialist.
