Vicki Anderson

Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals

Vicki qualified as a registered nurse in 2004 and has worked as a lung cancer nurse specialist since 2012. Prior to this role, she worked on both respiratory medicine and oncology in-patient wards.
Vicki completed an MSc in End of life Care at Northumbria University in 2012. She has enjoyed being involved with research at a national level through the Lung Cancer Nursing UK workshops and has presented examples of her teams work at national conferences. Vicki has also carried out several service development projects within the Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
Vicki and her colleagues offer in-patient and outpatient support for patients from pre-diagnosis onwards. She was involved the development of patient information and in the setting up of the support group, which has now been running successfully for 12 years. Vicki offers nurse-led clinics at various points throughout the pathway, supported by qualifications in clinical skills and non-medical prescribing.
Vicki previously worked as a clinical lead with the Getting It Right First Time (GIRFT) lung cancer work stream and welcomed the opportunity to hear about the incredible work that LCNS teams are doing locally.

The conference has been instigated and organised by LCNUK. Sponsors have contributed funding towards this event in return for exhibition space. They have had no input into the agenda or the selection of speakers with the exception of any sponsored symposia which are clearly indicated.
