Tanya Ahmad

University College London Hospital (UCLH)
Dr Tanya Ahmad is a Consultant in Medical Oncology specialising in the treatment of thoracic cancers at University College London Hospital (UCLH). She is an Honorary Clinical Lecturer at University College London (UCL).
Following completion of general medical training at Guys and St. Thomas’ Hospitals, Dr Ahmad trained in Medical Oncology at The Royal Marsden Hospital, London. She undertook postgraduate research as a CRUK McElwain Clinical Research fellow at the Institute of Cancer Research ( London) in the Department of Cell and Molecular Biology Signal Transduction Team. Her research area of interest is tyrosine kinase inhibitor resistance mechanisms.
Dr Ahmad was appointed as a consultant in 2011. As a member of the CRUK Lung Cancer Centre of Excellence, she has been Principal Investigator on several clinical academic and commercial trials including TIMELY, DARWIN I and DARWIN II, TROPION-LUNG, MARIPOSA 2 and has published in collaboration with the TRACER-X Consortium. Dr Ahmad is Clinical Lead for Chemotherapy Governance for UCLH and UCL Cancer Institute Oncology Education Deputy Lead responsible for teaching UCL Medical students (Years 3-5). At network level, she is a member of the North Central London Cancer Alliance Lung Cancer Expert Reference Group and Chemotherapy Expert Reference Group.
