Matthew Johnson

Dr Matthew Johnson works as an Advanced Clinical Practitioner in Lung Cancers at University Hospitals Plymouth. He qualified as a nurse from Charing Cross Hospital and went on to complete his Oncology Course at the Christie Hospital in Manchester. He has worked as a specialist Lung Cancer Nurse and as a Lead Chemotherapy Nurse in London. He was supported to complete his PhD by Lung Cancer Nursing UK, which he completed in 2020. The study looked at communication between clinicians and patients about the risk of recurrence following lung cancer surgery. He has worked as an advanced clinical practitioner at Plymouth since last June, when he moved to the South West from London for a change in lifestyle.
