Alison qualified as a registered nurse in 2011 with a Nursing MSc from the University of Essex and is currently the lead Macmillan Lung Cancer Clinical Nurse Specialist at Velindre Cancer Centre in Cardiff, Wales. She has been working in the field of lung cancer for over 10 years, initially working as a research nurse supporting lung cancer patients on surgical, observational and investigational medicinal trials. For the past 5 years she has been a lung CNS, a new role to Velindre Cancer Centre, establishing and building a service which has now expanded to include a lung cancer navigator. Her nursing interests include prehabilitation and she has previously been involved in an innovative joint virtual prehab clinic with the Velindre Allied Healthcare Professional team, and has had posters on this accepted to BTOG, LCNUK and UKONS annual conferences.

The conference has been instigated and organised by LCNUK. Sponsors have contributed funding towards this event in return for exhibition space. They have had no input into the agenda or the selection of speakers with the exception of any sponsored symposia which are clearly indicated.
