Diana Borthwick

Diana Borthwick is a Clinical Nurse Specialist in Lung Cancer at the Edinburgh Cancer Centre and was appointed in 1999 following a long clinical career in cancer and general nursing. She developed her interest in working with patients with lung cancer whilst she worked in clinical trials looking after patients with lung and neurological cancers.

Diana has an established reputation as a leader in the lung cancer nursing field and was one of the founding members of the Scottish Lung Cancer Forum. She was chair of the National Lung Cancer Forum for Nurses from 2013 - 2016. She was a committee member of the International Thoracic Oncology Nursing Forum, The International Thoracic Oncology Forum and a member of the Global Lung Cancer Coalition.

Diana has led and collaborated on a number of research projects in the areas of patient experience, symptom management in cancer care, lifestyle & rehabilitation and role of the lung cancer nurse specialist. She has recently completed her Non Medical Prescribing and plans to set up a nurse led clinic looking at TKI’s, undertaking pre-assessments prior to immunotherapy and follow-up of Radical radiotherapy patients following treatment
