Gemma Crowley
Gemma qualified in 2010 & started working in the Intensive Care Unit in the University Hospital of Wales in Cardiff where she developed vital acute medical & patient assessment skills. Whilst there she completed a PostGrad Certificate in Acute & Critical Care.Gemma became a Lung Cancer CNS in 2016 within the Cardiff & Vale UHB based predominantly in Llandough Hospital & has remained in the role since then. Gemma completed her Patient assessment & diagnostics module in 2018.
In her current role she works across the whole Lung Cancer Pathway from point of suspicion, through diagnosis, treatment & follow up.
Gemma was proud to take part in the QuicDNA liquid biopsy trial in Wales over the last couple of years, she feels this has made a positive difference to her patients & is pleased that this has now been incorporated into the National Optimal Lung Cancer Pathway within Wales.
In 2024 Gemma was part of the committee who relaunched the All Wales Lung Cancer Forum (AWLCF) & this year she has become joint deputy Lung CSG (Cancer Site Group) Lead in Wales.
Gemma is passionate in supporting her patients going through a difficult journey when being diagnosed with Lung Cancer & also feels an important part of her role is to help support all MDT members who are involved in this journey.
