Attending the Annual Lung Cancer Nursing UK Conference was both inspirational and enriching. I felt reinvigorated being part of a dynamic gathering of healthcare professionals dedicated to improving outcomes for patients affected by lung cancer.
This year’s event had three parallel streams, encompassing clinical and non-clinical themes. Clinical sessions addressed managing treatment side effects and toxicities, mesothelioma care, recognising red flag symptoms in acute oncology, developments in treatments for small cell cancer. Non-clinical discussions focused on the role of navigators and nurse- led clinics. Plenary talks explored key issues including environmental influences on lung cancer and end of life care.
Exchanging ideas and building peer support
Beyond formal sessions, the conference facilitated networking, exchange of ideas and building peer support. I appreciated the friendly atmosphere and recharging opportunity.
LCNUK 2025 Conference successfully combined education, professional development, offering the opportunity to explore latest advances in clinical practice and strengthen my dedication to patient-Centred lung cancer Care
I was captivated by Mel Erwin as she described her personal journey living with Lung Cancer. Her insightful talk was inspiring, offering an opportunity to witness her resilience. It reaffirmed that our work is not just meaningful, it is life changing, bringing hope and comfort to those who need it most.
