LCNUK2025: Another fabulous conference

Wilson, J (LCNUK Member)

This was my second time attending the LCNUK conference and I enjoyed it every bit as I did my first one.

What I like most about the conference is that it is just for nurses, there is something unique about us as a collective and the opportunity to gather together and share our experiences and practice is invaluable.

I enjoyed all the presentations but the ones that stood out for me personally were the ones that had a palliative/EOL focus and the difficult telephone conversations. I particularly enjoyed the radiology masterclass, delivered with humour and pitched at just the right level.

Networking with other lung cancer nurses enabled me to have insight to alternate ways of practicing and it has certainly given me an appetite to help improve patient care and experience in my own clinical setting.

I also found the charities that support mutation-driven lung cancers an inspiration, they are the ’forgotten’ patients in society and their tireless work to raise awareness and advocate for patients is exceptional.

All in all another fabulous conference, roll on 2026!
