Craigavon Area Hospital/ Lung Cancer Clinical Nurse Specialist (Macmillan)

Matthew trained in Thames Valley University London where he qualified as a registered nurse in 2002. He started working in general medical and surgical wards and also worked in the community as a district nurse. Matthew commenced working in specialist palliative care in 2016 initially in the community setting and more recently in the acute setting.
He was appointed Macmillan Lung cancer CNS IN 2020 and currently works in Craigavon Area Hospital, Northern Ireland (NI). Matthew attained specialist practice in D/N qualification in 2006, and completed specialist practice in palliative care in 2016, and became a non-medical prescriber in 2021.
Matthew is a core member of the Southern Health and Social Care Trust (SHSCT) Lung cancer MDT. He is a current member of the NI Lung cancer nurses forum and a member of NI cancer network for lung cancer.
Matthew is passionate about caring for patients with lung cancer throughout their journey.
