Dr. Elin Roddy is a Consultant Respiratory Physician at Shrewsbury and Telford Hospitals NHS Trust with an interest in lung cancer and interstitial lung disease. She trained in respiratory medicine in Nottingham, Australia and the East Midlands, including a doctoral research project looking at smoking cessation in marginalised smokers. She moved to Shropshire in 2009. She was Lung Cancer lead at the Trust from 2010 until 2017, and has also been the Trust lead for end of life care, Lead Physician at the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital and divisional lead for safety and governance. She takes part in the acute general medical take, and in the teaching and supervision of medical and non-medical clinicians including non-medical prescriber colleagues. She is committed to multi-disciplinary team working and passionate about good communication within teams and with patients. Outside of work she plays the viola, crochets blankets and has some children.
