Thyroid dysfunction after treatment with immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) may be more frequent than previously recognized, according to research published in Lung Cancer.  In a retrospective study of patients with NSCLC, most patients did not have thyroid function recorded after ICI treatment.

A meta-analysis of patients with lung cancer found that malnourishment was associated with poorer clinical outcomes and lower quality of life (QOL) according to a study published in Nutrients.

Following the announcement that current lead, Jenny Mitchell, plans to step down in 2022, LCNUK is seeking expressions of interest from members interested in chairing our thoracic surgical sub-group.  The LCNUK Thoracic Surgical Group is involved in the production and dissemination of information and guidance in relation to thoracic surgery.  The group meets at least three times a year and funding is provided to support travel expenses. Interested members should in the first instance email us to express their interest 

LCNUK is seeking expressions of interest from individuals based in Wales who would be willing to act as the LCNUK Welsh Ambassador and represent the organisation on relevant Welsh boards/committees.  This individual would be co-opted to the LCNUK Committee to feedback information and share LCNUK programmes locally.  If you are interested email us now for more information and to discuss the role further
