In a CHEST expert panel report, published online April 23 in Radiology: Imaging Cancer, recommendations are presented for the management of pulmonary nodules and lung cancer screening during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Patients with non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) and other thoracic cancers who also had COVID-19 demonstrated an unexpectedly high mortality rate and were often not offered intensive care, according to early results from the global TERAVOLT registry presented at the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) Virtual Annual Meeting I 2020.

Clatterbridge Cancer Centre NHS Foundation Trust matron, Sophia Bourne, has pioneered an innovative community treatment service where people with cancer can have chemotherapy administered by nurses in their workplace.  The service includes the administration of immunotherapies and other systemic anticancer therapies.
