In collaboration with DaSH Global, we have developed a new digital ‘Health Companion’ which enables patients to submit data regarding their quality of life and experiences in the management of lung cancer as well as any costs associated with the condition. The programme has previously been piloted as part of a study for Mesothelioma UK and adapted for lung cancer.  We urge you to get involved and support this initiative.

LCNUK is calling for research abstracts and examples of best practice/service development for inclusion in the 2022 LCNUK national conference. Encore abstracts also welcomed. All accepted abstracts will be invited to submit digital poster and video presentation of work. Prizes for best abstract and best poster.

Jenny Abbott, a noted factual TV producer has died of lung  cancer.  She was diagnosed with stage IV lung cancer in 2017, despite never being a smoker, and worked with fellow lung cancer patient Kathy Beattie to set up the charity EGFR Positive UK to provide support and information to those affected by the disease.  Everyone at LCNUK sends their sympathies to her partner Richard, and their three children Grace, George and Gabriel

The LCNUK annual workshop offers a unique opportunity to dip your toe into the basics of research and audit without having to over-commit.   Our next annual workshop is scheduled to take place on  7/8 March 2022 where you can particiapte in the development and implementation of a programme on psychological impact of lung cancer on patients and the role of the CNS in supporting patients psychological needs.  Participants are required to be involved in adhoc telephone video-conferencing and a follow up video conference meeting in September 2022.

Following the announcement that current lead, Jenny Mitchell, plans to step down in 2022, LCNUK is seeking expressions of interest from members interested in chairing our thoracic surgical sub-group. The LCNUK Thoracic Surgical Group is involved in the production and dissemination of information and guidance in relation to thoracic surgery. The group meets at least three times a year and funding is provided to support travel expenses. Interested members should in the first instance email us to express their interest.

LCNUK is seeking expressions of interest from individuals based in Wales who would be willing to act as the LCNUK Welsh Ambassador and represent the organisation on relevant Welsh boards/committees. This individual would be co-opted to the LCNUK Committee to feedback information and share LCNUK programmes locally.  If you are interested email us now for more information and to discuss the role further.
