LCNUK was very sad to learn of the death of James Brokenshire, MP from lung cancer at the age of 53. James, a never smoker, supported the LCNUK through its conference education programme and campaigning. Chair of the committee, Jackie Fenemore, said "James spoke so eloquently and supportively at our national conference in 2019."

Employing “electronic nose” (eNose) technology early during treatment can accurately identify patients with advanced non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) who respond to immunotherapy, according to research published in Lung Cancer.

A screening method that incorporates assessment of cell-free DNA (cfDNA) can identify lung cancers with 94% sensitivity and 80% specificity, according to a study published in Nature Communications.
