Committee member, Lavinia Magee has written an opinion piece in Cancer Nursing Practice on the need to work together to tackle the drop in referrals and the late presentations that have been seen since the pandemic started last year.  

Mesothelioma UK commissioned a study to assess the experience of healthcare professionals diagnosed and treated with mesothelioma.  Data from the study showed that 81% of organisations running hospitals in the UK have sites
containing asbestos.  A report on this work has been published in Cancer Nursing Practice

In this webinar, to be held on 25 January at 4PM, John Edwards, Consultant Thoracic Surgeon from Sheffield Teaching Hospitals, will talk about Extended Pleurectomy Decortication (EPD) - what the procedure is, why it became the focus of such a large-scale clinical trial, why evidence to support the procedure or not is necessary, and if or how EPD can be accessed, whilst MARS 2 results become available.

Metastatic brain tumours are thought to outnumber primary malignant brain tumours by at least three to one so it is an important area for us to be familiar with diagnosis and treatments.  The Christie Hospital are hosting a virtual Brain Metastases Study Day  on 15 March
