In the recently published, We are the NHS: People Plan for 2020/21 – action for us all document it is reported that HEE will be investing in training grants for 350 nurses to become cancer nurse specialists and chemotherapy nurses. As we know, the National Lung Cancer audit has previously revealed that our current workforce is unable to meet audit targets and workforce issues continue to be a problem.  Hopefully some of these grants will support the training of new lung cancer nurse specialists to support our speciality

A recent study published in the Clinical Journal of Oncology Nursing revealed that close monitoring for immune-related adverse events, close nurse-patient communication and patient education are key aspects of nursing management for patients with stage III non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) treated with durvalumab following chemoradiation therapy.
